Firms team up to offer advanced subsea 3D modelling

Ashtead Technology has secured a global agreement with US photogrammetry and software firm, DimEye, for the provision of subsea 3D modelling services to the offshore oil and gas industry.

The two firms will team up to supply high definition 3D video cameras and video laser scan systems together with data processing services.
Together the firms claim they will offer “a full high accuracy 3D modelling service capable of operating in the most challenging and hazardous environments”.

The camera systems, which can be deployed on ROVs of any size, will include applications such as-built modelling, damage inspections and spool piece metrology, valve and hull inspections, and mooring chain and line measurement.

Commercial director of Ashtead Technology, Tim Sheehan, said: “As we aim to provide our global customers with the latest technology, our collaboration with DimEye allows us to offer the energy sector an innovative 3D modelling service with one of the most trusted names in the industry.”

President of DimEye, Arnauld Dumont, said: “We believe Ashtead is the perfect partner for DimEye to roll out our Video Laser Scan technology, due to their global presence and impressive experience in delivering innovative subsea equipment solutions to their customers.”
