FMC Technologies and Total sign subsea systems deal

Oil service equipment provider FMC Technologies has received an order from operator Total to supply subsea systems for Edradour and Glenlivet fields in the West of Shetland area.

FMC Technologies will supply subsea equipment including manifolds and associated connections and controls equipment, wellhead systems, subsea tie back connection equipment and a subsea production tree.

FMC Technologies’ senior vice president, subsea technologies, Tore Halvorsen, said: “By working closely with Total we are able to provide a cost effective solution for developing these important fields.”

Earlier this year France’s Total and its Danish partner DONG decided to launch the development of the Edradour gas field, and also acquired a 60% interest in the neighboring Glenlivet discovery.

The Edradour field is located in Block 206/4a, in approximately 300 meters of water, 75km northwest of the Shetlands.

Production at the field is expected to begin in the fourth quarter of 2017 and will reach a plateau of 17,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day. The Glenlivet field is located in Block 214/30a, in approximately 435 meters of water, 90km northwest of the Shetlands.
